Campus Cafe Remodel

Project overview

This commercial design concept focuses on the spatial revitalization and rebranding of a high-traffic student cafe space. While the original footprint benefited from abundant natural light, the interior suffered from irregular maintenance, a lack of cohesive brand identity, and a visually disconnected layout that discouraged student retention. The primary architectural objective was to transform this uninspired transit zone into an energetic, welcoming, and multi-functional community hub that invites visitors to pause, connect, and linger.

The spatial strategy utilizes creative hospitality zoning to maximize the cafe's footprint and define distinct behavioral areas. We engineered a fluid layout that balances high-energy social zones with quieter, semi-private study alcoves, ensuring the cafe accommodates diverse student needs throughout the day. To replace the original unrelated color scheme, we introduced a bold, purposeful palette of warm tones and vibrant architectural accents, using structural graphics and modern lighting elements to inject personality, rhythm, and a distinct sense of place.
